Booking Process – Simple and Supportive

We’ve designed our booking process to be as simple and efficient as possible.

Step 1: Inquiry

Contact us by phone or email to check availability and discuss your needs. Include your desired date, type of event or group tour, estimated number of guests, and any special requirements.

Step 2: Consultation

We’ll follow up to confirm details, schedule a walkthrough if needed, and provide a quote. Our team will help you choose the best space and layout for your event.

Step 3: Reserve Your Date

Once terms are confirmed, we’ll send a rental agreement. A deposit is required to secure your booking. Final payment is due before the event date.

Step 4: Final Prep

Leading up to your event or tour, we’ll stay in contact to ensure everything is ready. You’ll have the support of our experienced staff for setup, questions, and day-of needs.

Pricing and Deposits

Our rates are designed to be accessible while sustaining the quality of our cultural offerings. Prices vary depending on event type, duration, space required, and any additional services needed.
Rental packages may include:

  • Use of indoor or outdoor spaces

  • Setup and breakdown time

  • Tables, chairs, and use of kitchen

  • Tour guide services (for educational groups)

  • Cleaning and maintenance fee


A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date. Discounts may be available for community organizations, returning clients, or nonprofit programming. We encourage you to reach out for a personalized quote based on your event’s needs.

Booking for Educational Groups

In addition to private events, we offer guided museum tours for schools, churches, youth organizations, and community groups. These group tours are designed to be interactive, age-appropriate, and impactful.
Each tour explores key themes in African and African American history, emphasizing:

  • African civilizations and contributions

  • The transatlantic slave trade and its impact

  • Resistance and liberation movements

  • Black innovation and achievement

  • Cultural pride and self-determination


We welcome classes from elementary through college level. Tours can be booked during regular museum hours, with special accommodations for larger groups or field trips.


Group tour bookings include a welcome orientation, guided experience, and time for reflection or discussion at the end. Customized themes are available for educators looking to align with classroom topics.
